COPE has momentum. Let's transform the city for the people.
COPE is growing. Since our first-place victory in the by-election, with over 50% of voters picking COPE, we're experiencing record growth. New members, new volunteers, and new support from all across the city.
This is our time. We're seeing momentum for movement politics like COPE across the continent, with big wins for democratic socialists mayoral candidates like Zohran Mamdani in New York and Katie Wilson in Seattle. We can do that here.
What makes COPE different is that we call out the disproportionate power of the super-rich, and fight like hell for the working class. COPE candidates are not padding resumes, or in this to rub elbows with the powerful. We’re not looking for people chasing headlines or climbing the ladder of the political class.
We organize, including between elections, to fight against the growing power of the billionaires. You can see that in the budget resistance, where COPE kickstarted an unprecedented resistance to Ken Sim's cuts budget that included 5,000+ letters and 600+ speakers. We are building a movement.
People have been asking us everywhere we go: Who are you running? When can we hear more about your candidates? Who is COPE's mayor? That process starts now. We're opening our nomination race.
Ken Sim and ABC are getting evicted on Oct. 17, 2026. COPE is seeking candidates for:
Vancouver Park Board Commissioner
Vancouver School Board Trustee
Vancouver City Councillor
Mayor
We need leaders, including a COPE Mayor, who will fight for the needs of regular people, not the super-rich. If you're the type of person who is willing to put their neck out to fight for people, and take on fighting for our city and the people in it with integrity and courage, COPE might be the party for you.
Sign up below to declare your intent to run and get a candidate info package.
You will hear back from COPE this week with your candidate information package including timelines, info sessions, and invites to upcoming candidate trainings.
This is going to be an exciting election. COPE is going to have strong candidates, and a city-wide campaign that engages voters from all corners of the city.
When we fight, we win.
Whether as a volunteer, an organizer, or as a candidate, you have an important role to play in this movement.
If you think you might be up for the challenge, share your intent to run with COPE and let's fight for the city.
We got this,
The COPE Election Planning Committee
