Key Dates & Deadlines for Candidates:
July 8th (Midnight)
Deadline for new members to sign up and vote at the Park Board Nomination Meeting
July 18th (Midnight)
Deadline for Park Board Nomination Applications to be submitted in full.
July 25th (Midnight)
Deadline to complete nomination deposit fundraising.
First steps to securing a nomination to run with COPE:
Reach out to the COPE team to express intent to run, whether via e-mail or by this form. Schedule an onboarding meeting.
Onboarding Meeting - first contact with COPE
Following this meeting, candidates may be given access to a personal fundraising link, may be approved to disclose publicly they are seeking nomination, and may be approved to incur minor nomination expenses.Vetting & Approval
After fundraising a minimum and completing part D of the nomination application, candidates will be asked to consent to a 3rd party background check, and will be invited to a meeting with Campaign Committee members to determine whether candidacy is approved. Following this meeting, approved candidates will be added to the member-facing nomination candidates page, and be promoted via COPE channels.Campaign Trail
Candidates for the nomination campaign will participate in public events, and engage with the COPE Campaign Committee on how to amplify your strengths as a candidate.Nominating Meeting - August 8th
COPE Members will vote to determine which candidates represent COPE in the upcoming general election.
